A Technological Transformation for Public Transport
The public transportation system will have over 4,000 high-standard buses during this year 2023, including more than 1,700 electric buses and 2,400 low-emission EURO VI buses.
In addition to a significant fleet renewal, our public transportation requires a complete technological transformation that allows us to make a comprehensive leap in service quality for people, aiming to reduce barriers to entry to our system and provide a better travel experience.
For this reason, in 2022, we began to make progress in the development of several tenders: fleet management, passenger information, ticketing system, operation scheduling, and data governance.
As part of the Technological Transformation process, we are launching our second Market Consultation on the Ticketing System.
Request for Information for the Ticketing System
This process seeks to create a space for interaction between the government and the technology service industry in urban transportation. It is open, transparent, and participatory, allowing the industry to share its experience, practices, and innovations related to technology services worldwide.
There are different opportunities for improvement and development in providing the various services that make up the Ticketing System. Therefore, the Request for Information for the Ticketing System aims to gather the state of the art, knowledge, and proposals for technology services available in the national and international market. It also aims to collect best practices and recommendations to evaluate their potential implementation in the Metropolitan Public Transportation System within the framework of the upcoming tender for these services.
The first document is an explanation of our Public Transportation System, the second is the Questionnaire relevant to the RFI, and the third is the Response Form in which participants should enter their answers to the Questionnaire with information of their services and solutions.
Interested parties are invited to submit their responses to the following email
